Senior Secondary

Senior Schooling refers to Years 10 - 12.
In Year 10, students need to start making decisions about their future learning pathway.
In Years 11 and 12, students seeking Tertiary Entrance take 6 subjects, including a minimum of 5 Authority subjects.  Students who do not require an Overall Position (for entry into a tertiary institution) may study some Authority - registered / SAS subjects.
NEW Senior Assessment and Tertiary Entrance in Queensland

Queensland is introducing a new Senior Assessment and Tertiary Entrance program starting with Year 11 students in 2019.  The Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) will replace the OP.  An ATAR is a number between 0.00 and 99.95 in increments of 0.05.

It will be derived from achievement across a broad range of learning achievements using a process of inter-subject scaling.
