The International Student Program is a valued feature of our school. We believe that as citizens of a global community, our school is enriched by the cultural interchange and diversity offered by this program. We believe that all our students require global understanding and this is fostered through interaction with students from differing cultural backgrounds.
Currently we have a capacity for 10 International Homestay students. We are excited to be able to welcome international students to our school cohorts and wider community. Our academic program includes Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Aquatic Practices, English, Humanities, Business, the Arts and more.
Our school has, on annual rotation, either a ski trip, trip to Japan or Europe.
Wellington Point State High School is located in Queensland and is a suburb of Redland City, about 22 km south-east of Brisbane. The suburb derives its name from the Point which extends prominently into beautiful Moreton Bay . The point and its adjoining waters are used extensively for aquatic sports and is also a popular day-trip destination. Wellington Point has a "village" feel and is a picturesque location with a fabulous coastal lifestyle.
The school is connected to the community through partnerships with local businesses and community groups. We are involved in a number of community based activities. We are strongly supported by the local councillors and the state and federal politicians. Students also attend the local TAFE for a variety of courses, and engage in other off-campus programs.
