The Queensland Government supports students' education by providing funding for instruction (eg teachers), and facilities (buildings, amenities, furniture). Funding does not extend to individual student resources such as textbooks, computer or musical equipment for personal use, and many items used/consumed by the student in the classroom. Supply of these items is the responsibility of the parents/guardians.
To provide parents/guardians with a cost effective alternative to purchasing textbooks and/or resources, Wellington Point State High School operates a Student Resource Scheme (SRS). The objective of the SRS is to provide a convenient and cost-effective way for students to access the educational resources required for them to engage with the curriculum for their education. The scheme is fully endorsed by the School's Parent and Citizens Association (P&C). The SRS is managed by the school and operated in accordance with Section 51 of the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006.

Please note that this Student Resource Scheme is a voluntary scheme, although there are a number of mandatory charges (** on attached list). Nearly 100% of parents in the past have elected to join due to the convenience and reduced financial commitment. If a parent chooses to participate in the scheme, a fee will be due and payable for the resources provided to the student.
