Term 3 Timetable Adjustment

PublishingPageContent

In Term 3 the timetable is adjusted to allow for a weekly opt-in session on Wednesday afternoons. This adjustment provides students with the opportunity to balance their school and home commitments and either complete homework and assessment using QLearn or use the time to manage 'out of school' commitments including appointments, exercise and work. Our mission is to prepare students to be responsible, life-long learners and global citizens and this flexibility trains children to live in the dynamic world of work.

Commencing Week 6, Wednesday 20th August, students in Years 7-12 will have no curriculum classes on Wednesday afternoon and they may leave school from 12:50pm. The timetable change is possible due to the conclusion of Interschool sport. This timetable adjustment will be in place until the end of 2025.

Options for students include:

  • online learning at home ie Literacy Planet, OneNote, QLearn;
  • paid employment or work experience;
  • respite mid-week to work on assignments or catch up on homework;
  • exercise and sports training; and
  • external appointments so they don’t impinge on other learning time during the week.

For staff this will allow valuable collaboration time to progress projects such as:

  • write curriculum/teaching plans;
  • create QLearn platform resources; and
  • provide professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and learning for students.

Students can remain at school and be supervised. These students will have a tutorial class scheduled on their timetable. Supervised attendance at school may include participating in STEM club, certificate, classwork and assignment support, academic games or indoor sport.

For your child to be timetabled to remain at school, your response to this short questionnaire by Friday, 8th August 2025 (end of Week 4, Term 3) is required. Non-completion of the survey will signal to the school that your child/ren will not be attending a tutorial session and opted for one of the options above.
