Our current Uniform Policy was written some time ago, and a formal review process also not done for some time. It is apparent that a thorough review and re-ownership by our whole school community of our Policy is now timely.

Uniform Working Groups (UWG)

We will form a Uniform Working Group, representative of the school community. This group will have a clear Terms of Reference and will be tasked with presenting to the P&C and Principal changes (if required) to be decided upon.

It is our hope that by the end of Term 2, we will have a decision on any changes to our school's uniform policy. This will address issues such as rationale, clear expectations, acceptable consequences and communication strategies.

In the meantime, our current uniform policy will apply. Our school will concentrate on co-operation with parents, so that students are wearing the correct school uniform.

We are requesting  input and commitment from our community to being a part of this change process. The details to consider in committing to the UWG include:

  • We aim to meet fortnightly (except for the proposed off-cycle meeting) from 4:00pm-5:30pm on a Thursday in the WPSHS Library
      • Term 1 Week 9
      • Term 2 Week 1
      • Term 2 Week 3
      • Term 2 Week 5
      • Term 2 Week 7
      • Term 2 Week 9
      • Term 2 Week 10 (This is an off-cycle meeting
  • We aim to have the process completed to begin Term 3 2023.
  • At the conclusion of this review, the UWG will be disbanded.
  • Those appointed to the Uniform Working Group will need to become members of the P&C as part of their role
  • The Uniform Working Group changes will comprise of:

    • will be performed at 10am Friday 17th March 2023
    • attendance is NOT required to be selected
    • nominate by email to mlegr6@eq.edu.au with the role by close of business Thursday 16th March 2023
    • you can nominate yourself more than once if applicable

You will have your chance to be heard even if you are not on the UWG by access to surveys via our social media. The change management process requires engagement from students, as well as parents, community members and staff to get our policy right for our current needs.
